Evangelism Ministry

The call of evangelism and best example was given by Jesus Christ Himself, when he begun by calling the twelve disciples (Matthew 10:1-10 – NKJV) and sending them out to the lost sheep of Israel. (“But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.” Matthew 10:6-8 (NKJV). Another example is found in Luke 10:1 where Jesus appoints and sends out the seventy. “Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Go your way; behold, I send you out as lambs among wolves.” Luke 10:2-3 (NKJV)

Jesus then gives us the Great Commission that is the foundation of church evangelism today. “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.”Matthew 28:19 (NKJV)

The evangelism and missions department in CCM with the support of the Board of Elders is therefore the driver that ensures that Christ Compassion Ministry responds to the Great Commission by reaching out to people with the gospel, leading them in accepting Christ and bringing healing to the broken hearted through the love of Christ and compassion.

We cannot overstress the importance and urgency of the call to evangelize, as it was a command that Christ gave to the church and to every believer. The evangelism team reaches out and ensures follow up that those reached are brought to church and nurtured spiritually.

The ministry is led by an Elder in charge who has a Deacon that handles the day to day running of evangelism and handles logistics. A support team composed of Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer and Committee members is also involved in supporting the work of evangelism in the ministry.

Role of Evangelism Team and the CCM church;

  1. Reaching out with the word of God.
  2. Bringing people in church to know God and His works in their lives.
  3. Reaching out to the needy to pray with them.

In line with Christ Compassion Ministry vision, to bring healing to the broken hearted and empower workers for effective ministry, the evangelism team contributes towards this through;

  1. Outreach
  2. Open air meetings
  3. One on one talk
  4. Seminars/Training

This contribution further promotes both spiritual and numerical growth within the ministry as people come to the knowledge of Christ and are planted in church as trees of righteousness.
